Educate. Empower. Empathy.
Educate. Empower. Empathy.
The objective of the sessions provide pregnant and postpartum mothers with personalized guidance, emotional support, and practical solutions to help them navigate the challenges of pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood. By addressing key areas such as nutrition, recovery, medical autonomy, emotional well-being, and postpartum preparation, mothers will gain the confidence and knowledge needed to care for themselves and their baby.
What Can I Expect During The Consult?
Mothers will gain a clear understanding of the best foods to consume and which to avoid in order to prevent indigestion, reduce the risk of gestational diabetes and preeclampsia, support recovery, aid in their baby’s growth and development, and promote overall well-being.
Mothers will learn about essential supplements for their baby’s growth and development, the most important ones to prioritize, and which supplements can provide comfort and calmness during pregnancy and postpartum. They will also understand how these supplements aid in recovery and replenish vital nutrients after birth.
Mothers will become confident in asking the right questions at their OB appointments, advocating for themselves, and fully understanding their medical autonomy throughout pregnancy and postpartum.
Mothers will receive a personalized birth plan, with guidance on what to include, how to present it to their doctor, and how to take charge of their appointments with confidence.
Mothers will be uplifted emotionally and spiritually, receiving affirmations and encouragement to strengthen their body, mind, and connection to their baby. We will focus on speaking positively over their journey into birth and postpartum healing.
Mothers will understand which foods contribute to morning sickness, what to avoid, and the benefits of vitamin B6 in managing nausea.
Mothers will be guided on establishing and maintaining boundaries in a way that ensures they feel heard and respected, while also reinforcing their confidence in setting these boundaries.
Fibroids disproportionately affect African American women. (Include statistic). Mothers will learn which foods can help manage fibroids during pregnancy, how to monitor their size and location, and how to have informed conversations with their doctor about birth options.
Mothers will have a safe space to voice their concerns, fears, and questions about birth, postpartum hospital stays, packing a hospital bag, and any other topics on their mind.
Mothers will have the opportunity to discuss their postpartum healing, how their bodies are recovering, body image, and create a recovery plan if they do not already have one.
For mothers who have undergone a cesarean birth, whether planned or emergency, they will have access to a cesarean doula for emotional support and guidance.
